Abstract

The researcher addressed the importance of volleyball as a team game that requires a level of physical fitness and the performance of its basic skills. The researcher also addressed the importance of learning strategies and teaching methods in the process of learning basic volleyball skills. The study also aimed to identify the effect of the analogical thinking strategy on learning the skills of overhead serve and smash. The research problem was that the researcher wanted, through this study, to determine the extent of the impact of using the analogical thinking strategy on learning some basic volleyball skills for first-grade students in the Vocational Secondary School for Sports Sciences in Maysan. The most important objectives of the study were to prepare educational units based on the analogical thinking strategy in teaching the skills of overhead serve and smash in volleyball to students, and to identify the effect of the experimental approach using the analogical thinking strategy on learning some basic volleyball skills for students. The researcher used the experimental approach because it was appropriate for the nature of the research. The research community was deliberately selected from students in the Vocational Secondary School for Sports Sciences in Maysan, numbering (90) students. The research sample was selected randomly.
